Locanda del Teatro

Montefalco, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, known also as “The Umbrian Terrace” for the breath-taking scenery surrounding it, hosts, in old village centre, the restaurant “Locanda del Teatro”, where the good food and convivial atmosphere make the perfect combination in an undisputed realm of High Home Cooking.
The elegant environment and the creativity of Chef Pasqualino Titta, together with the cordial welcome of Head Waiter Paolo Galanti, ensure that customers have a really enjoyable time, tasting the excellent wines and delicious dishes that are typical of the “Locanda del Teatro” restaurant.

Restaurant

The inviting softness of velvet and the interior elegance of the restaurant warmly receive customers in the three rooms available. Each environment is furnished with elements pleasing to the eye and which facilitate an exclusive reception.
The pleasure of sitting at the beautiful hand-painted tables is enhanced by the possibility of “peeping” into the kitchen which opens, with all it’s vivacity, onto one of the rooms.
Good weather permitting, customers can also enjoy the medieval atmosphere of the village by eating at outside tables set in the alley alongside the restaurant, a “magical” place for particular romantic occasions.

Kitchen

The Chef Pasqualino Titta, with creativity and passion, signs the dishes where he has used the finest primary materials, all vigorously selected according to their seasonal availability. High Home Cooking therefore is based on the Chef’s intention to maintain the full flavour and aroma of ingredients which are the basis of traditional Umbrian Cookery, transformed by a deep and elaborate search for quality.

Menù

Excellent prime materials; selected ingredients which are procured according to seasonal availability; traditional Umbrian Cuisine, revised in a modern key and created by the able hands of the Chef. These are the factors which ensure the rich and varied menu of the “Locanda del Teatro” Restaurant.
Dishes dedicated to celiacs, vegans and vegetarians, always prepared observing the seasonal availability of ingredients.
Also the choice of appropriate wines to accompany our meals is not left to chance but is suggested by Head Waiter Paolo Galanti on the basis of his sagacious experience and who, thanks to the availability of an ample range of important labels produced on the Italian market and locally, is able to satisfy the most demanding palates.
Undisputed king of our winery is the famous vintage wine Sagrantino, a symbol and pride of the beautiful Montefalco lands.

Testimonials

Absolutely Wonderful

Eat At This Restaurant! This is one of the best restaurants we've ever had the pleasure to dine, not just in Italy but throughout our travels and in the United States. The food is superb, just delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant is beautiful. And the service is beyond wonderful. We were greeted so warmly as we stepped inside and that same warmth and attentiveness continued throughout the evening. We saw other diners receive the same excellent service. Temi, our server, was kind and gracious. She helped us navigate the menu and make the right choices for us. We chose a wine flight with our meal and loved tasting the local wines. Honestly, we can't say enough about how perfect the experience was. We ordered the gnocchi, the pasta dish with the seasonal white truffles, then shared the beef dish followed by two desserts, the apple pudding and the chocolate pudding. Just wonderful! Don't miss this restaurant.

Standout - highlight of our ‘foodie’ Italian trip

Montefalco, which is charming and has a quite nice museum for its size, could be a destination simply for this standout restaurant. All the ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality, ranging from the new olive oil, fresh and varied breads, both black and white truffles, spinach, pasta and steaks. The presentations are delightful and fabulously tasty, and steak was cooked to perfection medium rare. The wine list is long and includes reasonably priced local wines. The staff are all friendly and attentive, including our totally bilingual (originally from England) delightful server. The price of truffles had gone down a bit since the menu was printed so they charged us less for our wonderful white truffle pasta than the listed price. An amuse bouche at the start of the meal and gift of a recipe at the end were nice touches.
